About me

I have been working as a journalist for 25 years, mostly freelancing for several newspapers and magazines but also as an editor in chief for two local magazines in the Stockholm archipelago, as a tv production researcher and an independent filmmaker. As an author, I have released three non fiction books and am currently working on my fourth, expected to be published in late 2025. I am also a certified writing coach and a Write Your Self guide in the healing method expressive writing. Since 2014, I run my own company Skrivarresor, organizing retreats in Stockholm archipelago and Spain. The themes of these events have been everything from wellness and yoga to mommy baby retreats, autobiographical writing and creative writing courses.

I have since my teens had a passionate love affair with Spain. Previously I have been living and working in Mallorca, Costa del Sol, Barcelona, Sitges and Gran Canaria. In September 2024 I moved to Almunecar on the Costa Tropical with my 12 year old son. For the first time in my life, I truly felt I had ended up in a place that I could call home. The beauty of the south Spanish nature and beaches. The tranquility and laid back nature of the community. The amazing people I have met, both Spanish and expats, who have made me feel welcome and inspired.

I decided I wanted to stay on the Costa Tropical and build something fantastic here, and the idea of Casa Liliana took form. When my mom Lilian passed away in 2023 she left me with a heritage that could help me create my dream project. It is a dream that I am sure she would have been proud of seeing me fulfill, as I also inherited the love of Spain from her – when she was in her early twenties during the 1960s, she was actually living and working in the Malaga region. And to honor and thank her, I decided that the house would carry her name. But not only will I name my dream home after her, her presence will also be felt in the house through her paintings and a photo memorial wall of her life.
